Bicep Circumference (Left & Right)

Track arm muscle development and detect bilateral asymmetry.

Equipment

Flexible tape measure.

The protocol
  1. 01Client stands with arm relaxed at side.
  2. 02Measure at the midpoint of the upper arm between the acromion (shoulder tip) and olecranon (elbow).
  3. 03Wrap tape horizontally. Keep snug without compressing.
  4. 04Measure both left and right arms.
  5. 05Record each to nearest 0.1 cm.
What to watch for
  • Client flexing during measurement (unless measuring flexed circumference).
  • Inconsistent landmark identification between retests.
  • Asymmetry >5% may indicate imbalance requiring attention.
How to read the result

No normative band — track each arm against its own history. Re-measure monthly; a left/right difference above ~5% flags an imbalance worth addressing.
